In the city of Monopolis where happily ever after is just a scientific formula away, Valentine Morland has been waiting nine years for her day to come. Now it’s here, and she will marry the man of her dreams, a stranger to her, before being swept off to life of carefree luxury and bliss, courtesy of the Jigsaw Project. However, all is not as Valentine imagined as her new husband is quickly discovered as not the man of her dreams, but one who claims he isn’t capable of love at all. Harbouring an intense paranoia for the system, which upholds the very idealist fantasy that Valentine holds so dear, Clark threatens to throw her into a world, not of bliss, but of scary consequence where her every emotion is under scrutiny. Can it be that the scientific formula with a 99% success rate got it all wrong, or is everything in the world of Bliss Inc. more sinister than it seems?
This young adult dystopian romance debut from Kristy Nicolle, 'Something Blue', is a new addition to the great YA dystopian tradition of Scott Westerfeld, Suzanne Collins, and Veronica Roth which have captured the hearts of hungry readers all over the world. Join Valentine as she discovers the truth about arranged marriage, and the accident behind it all that leads her unknowingly to real happiness.

As a verified purchaser and just fyi: I received an ARC for an honest review. Well, I need to get the paperback of this baby!Wow! Just wow! Really there are no words to describe.... I honestly thought it was going to be plain romance and nothing more. Boy was I wrong. Kristy describes a almost to familiar world we live today that destroyed the world. So, someone had to step up and put laws and rules. The rules had to be followed with no buts and ifs. Would you live in a world that made the decisions for you? Who to marry? Well, Valentine and Clark are arranged to be married. Any girls dream is to meet the one and loose their virginity to the one they love. Well, in this case Valentine's marrying to a complete stranger because she has to; because Clark is her matchmate. Life changes as soon she sees him and finds out more of Bliss Inc... Will she be able to make a difference or continue being a nieve girl and enjoy being married. Kristy goes on in details in how everything is being controlled and how they live. They live devided such as women cities, male cities, and couples complexes with no interaction with the other species and as well with the couples. The technology sounds awesome but i wouldn't want that kind of life style. It is c-r-a-z-y! Makes me realize that we should appreciate that we have our freedom. Anyways, back to the book. The world they live if they are chosen and not a labourer get housing and live with the other chosen. And receive everything they need. It must be nice to have everything just so that you may prepare for marriage and have children. But like I said things happen and with a uexpected twists and turns of events turn their life around. Very enjoyable and not disappointing. I highly recommend this book. Oh, by the way its not short and very detailed . Happy reading.

Something Blue A Dystopian Romance eBook Kristy Nicolle Reviews
Wow!! I absolutely love this story!! It's a well written #DystopianRomance that really makes the reader contemplate on what the future might hold for us as a species, since, you know, we're overpopulated. The story is uniquely different from others in its genre. The characters are solid, especially, in their emotions throughout the book. At times, it was a bit of a rollercoaster. Yet, these are the type of books I read/crave.Something Blue is a standalone, full length novel that leaves you with a smile on your face, and, of course, has you thinking about it days later. There's a book quote that says Reading is dreaming with your eyes open.Something Blue is just like that. It reads like a dream.
All I can say is wow! This book is so well written. I love the characters and the futuristic dystopian setting. I love the descriptions the Author used. I felt like the characters were well developed. Valentine at times made me want to rip my hair out at how pouty and whinny she was. But she makes up for it with her quick wit and forward attitude. Clark, what to say about Clark. He is kind of an ass but I myself love the "bad ass" "bad attitude" type of guys. So of course I fell in love with him from the get go! I really liked watching this couple grow to care for one another. I think if you like Romance you will love this book. If you like Dystopian books you will NOT be disappointed with this book! It really is a MUST read
I absolutely love the premise for this book! Love the sci-fi aspects, and the story is entertaining! Valentine is part of the Jigsaw Project, which arranges marriages scientifically for maximum success, and she has been waiting in the training program for a long time, so she is ready and anxious to meet her match, but when Valentine finally meets her match, everything isn't exactly living up to her dreams. Valentine's new husband is acting secretive and Valentine doesn't know if she can trust him, and there's also some odd things happening behind the scenes in her world. I like Kristy Nicolle's unique way of laying out the story, and I enjoyed all the characters; even though they did get on my nerves on occasion! I actually would've loved a bit more of a connection between the characters, and also for the story to move a little faster; at times the story was a bit too descriptive. There's a bit of mystery that I really enjoyed, and would've actually loved more of that in the story. Valentine and Clark's relationship was interesting to read because it wasn't typical, and I enjoyed their banter back and forth. The setting for Something Blue was really cool! That's where a lot of the futuristic aspects came into play, which I found to all be interesting. Looking forward to more from Kristy Nicolle!
I have to say that I really love the Authors imagination in this book. The world she created was something out of a movie but at the same time it's something that could totally happen in decades to come.
I love Valentines character. While she was very strong and opinionated she still had those personality traits that gives her that real feel. She was sweet and down to earth and really just wanted the fairy tale.
Clark is the quintessential bad boy hero. He's cold and hard and a total jerk most of the time but it really fits for his character and I liked him. There is a mystery that surrounded him and I was pleasantly surprised about how I wasn't able to figure out what was going on with him but once it comes out, I was shell shocked.
I love the plot it was a futuristic look at pretty much matchmaking dating, but you end up getting married. I really enjoyed watching them get to know one another. it was a pivotal point in the book and it made you decide how you were going to feel about the characters. All the Technology that was in this book, was very intriguing and I thought the author did an amazing job with description.
Overall I loved this book. It was different than I thought it was going to be but in a good way. The authors imagination and writing style help make this book intriguing and different. I do have to say I wish we would've gotten some at Clark's POV just for the fact that it was hard to majorly connect with him and his feelings about everything. 4.5 stars #2OCCJD
